Before Internships
After Internships
Bonita Valley Community Church is a non-profit business, where their mission is to:
"To help people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ by Including, Instructing, Involving and Investing them into the harvest." They have been in Bonita for a couple years, the church being built by their team of pastors and volunteers. At Bonita Valley, they come together to offer ministries and support groups for the community. Through these groups, they make sure everyone is cared for and guided through their path to God and Jesus. |
As a student that has been a part of this community for over a year (nearing the two year mark), I am so excited to be able to explore another side of this non-profit. I volunteer on Sunday's with the 3/4 grade girls, where I am given the opportunity to work with the volunteer team and take care of children and families. Not only that, but on Sunday's, we also try and connect with the students, so I have grown fond of these girls, and being able to work behind the scenes and now create beautiful work alongside Ms. Davida is an amazing opportunity. This is a place I feel really comftorable going to if I need help or if I ever need to talk to someone, and through this internship, I really hope I am able to connect and reflect with their team and become closer to their other pastors, leaders, and Ms. Davida. Even though this community is a place where I feel like I have casual friendships with mentors and adults, I feel like I can also grow as a student and a person. I have always felt like I can become a better person if I surround myself with good people. These adults and pastors have so many good skills that I can apply to any job/future (communication, cooperation, refinement, etc.). I can receive really good advice from adults here, and through the month of internship, I can learn a lot from what they do and how they work behind the scenes alongside other team members.
Here, I have attached my resume, which I used when I talked to Ms. Davida and explained what Internships were at High Tech High Chula Vista. |
